CASE PROFILE

Diagnosis: Severe Atopic Dermatitis (Both Hands)
History:

  • Patient is a 24 year old college student / massage therapist
  • Lesions progressive in nature
  • Severe itching
  • Patient notes that stress increases severity
  • Duration 6 years
  • Prior therapy consisted of cortisone and multiple other topical applications
Physical Examination on Presentation at Meditech Clinic:
  • Punctuate lesions, erythematous, elevated and tender to touch
  • Involvement right popliteal space, calf and left anterior tibia in addition to hands
Treatment at Meditech Rehabilitation Clinic:
  • Laser treatments twice per week ** Note: ideal would be 3 to 4 times per week
Progress on the Above Regime:
  • Rapid resolution of symptoms and eczema
